Course Overview:

Understand the body waste elimination process

• Identify and select appropriate equipment required for
  a patient’s elimination need

• Demonstrate cleaning procedure of the equipment used in
  an elimination process

• Assist patients with their urination and defecation
  procedures

• Observe and report any abnormalities during an
  elimination process

• Understand the function of a urinary catheter

• Assist patients with cleaning of an indwelling catheter

• Assist the nurse with the procedure of catheter removal

• Explain the term enema and the purposes of an
  enema administration

• Describe the different types of enema

• Explain the method of administering an enema

• Follow all safety measures to carry out the processes
  in a safe manner
